“Homage to Raphael”
Collection in homage to Raffaello Sanzio, called Raphael (1483-1520), painter and architect who played a major role in the art history. This collection is inspired by two of his most important fresco cycles, that I have freely elaborated: the Raphael’s Rooms in Vatican and Villa Farnesina in Rome. His works deeply marked the Italian art and, even if he died very young, he’s considered as the greatest painter of Renaissance. He was buried at Pantheon and on his grave there’s an epitaph in recognition of his greatness: “Here is where Raphael lies, when he was alive Mother Nature feared to be vanquished, and when he died was afraid to die with him”.
